  • Learn the power of language! Reading comprehension is critical to every part of the SAT, so the skills taught here apply in every section. This class will dissect the reading passages in the SAT. I teach an exact reading process to ensure that students take the proper reasoning and simplification steps. The fiction passage requires the students to apply black and white rules to material that may seem gray. The informational passages require sharp simplification skills in order to work quickly and accurately.

  • This class will cover beginning and intermediate math in both the calculator and no calculator section. This portion of the test is important for all students to have mastered. Everyone must have a firm grasp of the nature of the concepts and building blocks of SAT math. Many concepts taught in school are disguised in this portion of the test. I will teach the students to see underneath the problem details in order to recognize the simpler (and familiar) concepts. I will also focus on translating and setting up word problems. I recommend this class if a student’s math score is below 670.

  • This class will cover some intermediate math as well as the most difficult math in both the calculator and no calculator section. This portion of the test is most important for students trying to perfect their math scores. These questions have multiple concepts layered within one problem, and the simpler concepts are well-disguised. Students must learn to reason through these problems, even when there is no clear line of sight to the answer. As students become familiar with this complex reasoning, these questions become less intimidating. I recommend this class for students trying to achieve math scores higher than 600.

  • It's time to learn formal grammar rules! This is a highly neglected section, yet it makes up half of a student's verbal score. This class will teach students to recognize and categorize different types of grammar questions and then apply the grammar rule associated with each category. This is the area where students can increase their scores rapidly if they change their habits!

  • The purpose of this class is to ensure that the reasoning techniques in each subject area are fresh in the students’ minds right before the test. I will spend 20 minutes in each subject area (English, Math, and Reading) highlighting the reasoning techniques, language subtleties, and common traps.

  • This course takes place the day before the PSAT, and no book is required. I will cover every subject area of the test. The students will be reminded of the reasoning strategies, and we will do practice problems in reading, grammar, and math.
