  • This class will dissect the social science and the double-passage reading. The SAT reading requires a deeper level of simplification and concept recognition than most people are accustomed to. Students rush through important reasoning steps that must occur in the beginning of each reading question. I will teach an exact technique to ensure that students are performing all of the necessary reasoning steps. The double-passage reading is typically the most difficult passage on the test, while the social science section tends to be more straight forward. Seeing the contrast between easy and difficult problems helps students learn to better manage their time and recognize the best questions to attack first.

  • This class will cover the intermediate math in both the calculator and no calculator sections of the practice test. I will also quickly cover some early math so that the class can see the building blocks used in the intermediate problems. This portion of the test is important for ALL students to have mastered. Everyone must have a firm grasp of the nature of the intermediate SAT problems. Many concepts taught in school are disguised in this portion of the test. I will teach the students to see underneath the problem details in order to recognize the simpler (and familiar) concepts. I will also focus on translating and setting up word problems. I recommend this class if a student’s math score is below 670.

  • This class will teach students to recognize and categorize different types of grammar questions and then apply the grammar rule associated with each category. Because students have relied on their ear in reading, speaking, writing, and texting, bad grammar habits can be difficult to break. There will be a heavy focus on application of the grammar rules.

  • This class will review the most difficult math in both the calculator and no calculator section. This portion of the test is most important for students trying to perfect their math scores. These questions have multiple concepts layered within one problem, and the simpler concepts are well-disguised. Students must learn to reason through these problems, even when there is no clear line of sight to the answer. As students become familiar with this complex reasoning, these questions become less intimidating. I recommend this class for students trying to achieve math scores higher than 600.

  • This class will dissect all 5 passages on the practice SAT. Students MUST TAKE THE PRACTICE TEST. I will teach an exact technique to ensure that students are performing all of the necessary reasoning steps required to deeply simplify the difficult SAT reading section. The students will learn to categorize all of the questions on the SAT, and they will also learn which types of reading passages are most approachable, allowing them to make better decisions with respect to time management.

  • This class will cover everything but the most difficult math problems on the practice test. Students MUST TAKE THE PRACTICE TEST. All of the basic building blocks of SAT math will be discussed, and students will learn how to identify simpler concepts that are hidden underneath intimidating language. We will look at both the calculator and no calculator sections. I recommend this class for students with math scores below a 670.

  • This class will cover the entire English section of the practice test. Students MUST TAKE THE PRACTICE TEST. English and Grammar is a definite weakness for most students. I will emphasize the grammar rules driving each question. Then I will teach the students how to recognize grammar concepts before their gut instinct causes them to make errors. Most students need repeated exposure to grammar rules before they can prevent themselves from falling into traps.

  • This class will focus on the most difficult problems on the practice SAT. Students MUST TAKE THE PRACTICE TEST. The test-makers cleverly disguise the concepts within these problems, and there are numerous traps within the wrong answers. I only recommend this class for students trying to achieve a score higher than 600 in math.

  • This test is required for any student signing up for the 7000 series classes. It is an opportunity to take a test under timed conditions, and all of the 8000 classes will be based off this test.

This SAT Prep Guide will be used for all classes and needs to be purchased one time. I will provide the book on the student's first class. Please bring it to all subsequent classes.
If you are registering for additional classes, it is not necessary to purchase another copy.
